7 on 7 team for broughton players for NYFO league

NOTE: The NYFO has pushed back the game schedule to starting either 6/20 or 6/27.  We will have our first practice to 6/3.
----------------------------------------------------------
The NYFO 7v7 league has moved its Spring season to summer due to the coronavirus. .EVERY other team in the CAP 7 is represented in the NYFO 7v7 league except Broughton so the we have created a team under the Sandhills Titans organization for the league so that Broughton players will have a team too.

The Sandhills Titans would like to invite you to participate while you are waiting for school football to start at Broughton…Lets keep getting better!

Information Regarding the Titans and NYFO 7v7
•The Sandhills Titans are sponsoring a 7v7 team… You are invited to participate with us in the NYFO 7v7 league in Raleigh, June 1st through July 31.
•What is the Sandhills Titans?  A 501 (c)(3) non-profit football organization sponsoring an NYFO 7v7 team for Broughton Players
•Why is it invitation only?  We can have a max of 20 players (20 for varsity and 20 for JV) and we are reserving spots for Broughton players.
•The virus has interrupted football when you would be preparing for the 2020 season.  The 7v7 league will allow players to work on their skills with other Broughton players until normal football workouts/practice can resume.
•The Sandhills Titans organization is NOT affiliated with Broughton in ANY way but the Broughton coaches have been made aware of the team and are supportive. There is no requirement or expectation for you to play from Broughton.  It will in no way affect your standing with Broughton.
•Primarily "team-run" (no Broughton Coaches involved) with parents providing oversight. – We will run a similar Offense and Defense as Broughton.
•What about coronavirus safety?  We will follow all safety guidelines
•What does it cost?  $44 to register with NYFO and $30 to register for Titans (total of $74)
•What if I can not pay to play? If invited but you can not pay, we will provide financial assistance so everyone can play
•Practice will be one evening per week on Wedanesdays (and Saturdays until games begin) at 5pm at Fred Fletcher Park (day, time and location subject to change).  League games on Saturdays starting either June 20 or 27 (TBD).
First Practice is Wednesday June 3rd, 5pm at Fred Fletcher Park.  Bring cleats, mouth guard, and anything you require for virus protection.

PLEASE REGISTER NOW:

UPDATE MESSAGE FROM NYFO:
Good Afternoon- Praise the Lord! It is “GO TIME!”.
Some of the info below has been covered in previous correspondences but we ask that you read again as we continue to navigate this new territory. If they haven’t already, your coach and/or commissioner will be contacting you with exact details of when and where your practice will begin and the processes of how it will work for your league/team.
All uniforms that you ordered have been in since April. Most have been distributed but If you haven’t received yours yet, arrangements will be sent to you by June 1 by your league commissioner.
PLEASE NOTE:
*FOR ATHLETES READY TO GO!!!!: We are looking forward to getting after it with you. Also, If you know of an athlete who wants to participate who didn’t originally register Jan thru March 15, let us know and have someone contact your local commissioner or the corporate office at info@playnyfo.com. We will make it work.
*FOR ATHLETES WHO WANT TO PAUSE: If you want to wait a few days or weeks before you get going, that is fine! We will wait for you when you desire to join. We will always serve your family with grace and do our best to accommodate you. This season we are exercising a little more flexibility in some of our rules and expectations and we thank you for doing the same. If you are in this category please make arrangements to go ahead and pick up the uniform you purchased, if you haven’t done so already.
*FOR ATHLETES WHO WANT TO CANCEL: If your athlete doesn’t want to participate, contact your local Commissioner and let them know so they can remove your athlete from his team and allow another athlete to take his place. If you fall in this category we will certainly miss you and hope that you will consider NYFO in the future. Also, you can:
1A) Request a refund for your registration fee or
1B) allow it to be used to sponsor a less fortunate athlete who is on the waiting list.
2A) You can show up to the first practice/meeting to pick up the uniform you purchased or arrange to pick it up another time or
2B) You can donate it to a less fortunate athlete on the waiting list or
2C) You can request it be put in our portal for sale and we will do our best to sell it for you. As there are quite a few people on the waiting list and very few who desire to cancel, we feel that we will be successful for most if not all in this attempt as we have already done so for a few. If we can sell your uniform we will also refund the insurance you purchased as we can transfer it to the new athlete.
Ok- now for the good stuff!
Can somebody say “Let’s go!”. The adrenaline is pumping and the excitement is in the air. It’s time to get of the couch and work on a better you! I’ve talked to most of your Fall coaches and they are excited to get going as well.
Things might operate a little differently, but I assure you we are going to get in some great work, and improve your: fundamentals, game knowledge, and position specific execution and do so in a safe environment.
We are still working on some details but this is how things are shaping up as of now. Remember your commissioner will also go over this with you in person

To participate each athlete/parent will sign a letter of commitment which will include the above info
Practice Suggestions:
Parents are asked to not attend; if so mask is mandatory and social distancing guidelines are in effect
Athletes wear gloves
GAMES:
Again, not set in stone but this is how things are shaping up: First game will be June 20th or 27th and run straight thru til July 25.The 25th will be tournament style.
As much as possible, we will try to get every team at least (1) double header during the season.
*We have a handful of teams who want to play but didn't register earlier and don't have jerseys. We will work with them to come on (1) or (2) weekends only and play multiple games. They will pay a referee fee per game to the host. We have several High Schools on this list. This will allow us to serve our local football communities without punishing anyone that registered on time.
As we continue to ask for your patience while we figure out the curve balls that have been thrown at us, we are also asking for your assistance in these areas:
Practice and Game Fields: We are trying to identify and secure more field space for practice and games. Practices can be anywhere that is flat and safe preferably 50x50 yard minimum (churches, city fields, farms, etc). Game fields: Coach Kolstad has Okayed Leesville HS if we can get permission from Community in Schools (we need a partner on this) and we have a facility in Durham but it is nice to have options
Coaches and Volunteers: Although our coaching staff is superb, we could always use a couple more folks to volunteer to help coach/manage. Thank you in advance for assisting.
***REGARDING MASKS: We have ordered (500) washable/usable cloth gaiters and will sell them at our costs of $5 ea to the first that asks for them.*** Make your request to your local commissioner or coach and we will have them delivered to your first practice/meeting.
Thank you for allowing us to partner with you and provide your athlete with meaningful training and life lessons. We don’t like to promise things that are out of our control but i can certainly promise you this: No matter the challenges we will never quit on you.
Thank you for the blessing to serve you!
Bob Winstead and All NYFO Commissioners
